An Exciting Month Study in Kampung Inggris

The plan after graduating from high school to take courses in Kampung Inggris Pare while waiting for college to enter turned out to be a failure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Until August 2020, (at that time the New Normal system was implemented) the community began to adapt again to new conditions. Likewise, the English course in Pare has started to reopen. Actually, I didn't know much about it, but I accidentally saw my friend's WhatsApp story, which turned out to be there for the course. Therefore, I immediately asked permission from my parents to take an English course there. I was also confused about whether to continue taking the course or not because in October the lectures had already started. Finally, I decided to keep taking the course and now I can share a short story about how one month I studied English in one of the courses in Kampung Inggris Pare Kediri.

Environment and Activities

The course, which was built semi-outdoor and has a cool atmosphere, is what might make many people want to feel the fun of learning here. In addition to the course, students who study there are also required to stay in the camp that has been provided. So we did live with friends who both studied there so that it was easy to follow the activities held by the camp. We also have several other activities besides learning English, one of which is the Religious Meeting, where this activity is a religious activity carried out together according to their respective beliefs. Because these are some of the activities that make us often gather together and indirectly it makes us quickly get to know well about our roommates and our classmates.

Learning Activities

This course makes a package program at once, so there I get four hands-on materials, there are grammar, pronunciation, speaking, and vocabulary. Each material will be taught by a different tutor. The four materials are given in one day, two materials are done in the morning and two materials are done after the break. And every weekend we take a test to find out our progress while studying there. And at the end of the program, we also take the final exam to find out our learning outcomes during the program. For classes where there are five levels ranging from pre-basic, basic, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and advanced. Before the program starts, we have taken a placement test to determine the grade level we will take. In addition to attending the four classes, we also received two additional classes at the camp which were held after pray subuh and isya'.

Meet New People

Of course, this is one of the things I look forward to the most when taking courses in Pare, which is meeting new people. I took the course without my friends, yes I was completely alone without knowing what Kampung Inggris was like. It's not a problem, but it's what I've been waiting for the most. The first time I came, I met my new friend from Maluku, she was my roommate. I also met a lot of friends from various other islands. That moment made me excited because from there we can have a wider relationship. We can learn many things from them starting from their habits, customs, tribes, and cultures. We can exchange stories and get new insights from people who have different customs and cultures from ours.
